Commitment, perseverance and a total determination to continuously learn and improve…

These were the wise words of former Formula One World Champion, Nigel Mansell CBE when Zubair recently had the chance to ask one of Britain’s most successful ever racing drivers for a few pointers and advice regarding his own racing ambitions.

Zubair was an invited guest at the annual charity dinner for UK Youth, a leading national charity which works with nearly 700,000 young people every year through the country’s largest network of youth clubs and projects.

Nigel Mansell is its current President and he found time to chat to Zubair, at the Canary Wharf event in London, about motor racing and some of the qualities needed to reach the pinnacle of the sport.

“ It was an amazing opportunity to talk to someone who has been such an inspiration to young up and coming drivers and Nigel was extremely encouraging,” says Zubair. “He was so down to earth and honest about the need to be persistent and strive to be the best you can be in the sport.

“ After a life as one of Britain’s most successful F1 drivers of all time, he still has the energy to inspire thousands of young people through his charity work and it was a real honour to meet him.”
